Hello Everyone out there....I'm so angry with myself & that I've let my Blog go for two years. I can't believe 2 years have gone by, where does the time go?
After my last post I made it through the World Wide convention & had a fabulous time. It was hard work leading up to the event & during but it's so rewarding. Plus, I was able to see Elton John in concert for the finale. I will never forget the experience, what a great opportunity.
After all the work at home & stress I became very sick & was out of work for almost 2 weeks.
We had a great rest of 2010 with some getaways to Shades of Green at Disney. We spent Thanksgiving with my sister & her husband & our Mom. Scott & I cooked Thanksgiving dinner & we all had a blast.
That same trip we were able to visit my nephew Mike from California. It was nice to visit with him & catch up.
That's about it for the year 2010..

Happy Spring 2010!
How sad am I? Don't answer that question! I've thinking about my neglected family Blog for awhile and decided to log on and update. I'm back to my question, How sad am I? Tisk, tisk for not updating any sooner. The upside is that the last time I updated was last March so I can keep the background design. :)
Hope everyone survived the winter and is looking forward to enjoying Spring weather, buds and flowers. Let's not forget pollen....I planted Tulips last Fall and they started to bloom last week. I'll have to update today with some photos, they're very beautiful.
Spring also brings cleaning and renovations at the Powers household. Scott and I decided to remodel the kitchen after the cold weather made the tiles on the floor buckle. We've torn down the wall between kitchen and living room, pulled up all the tile flooring and added granite counter tops. Having the concrete floor stained and added design and we need to add back splash and do a major cleaning and we'll be done. :) I have photos to post of the transformation, those will come soon once we have everything completed.
At work, Scott is doing well, very busy at times but a super start at his office. My work has been steady busy and working towards the World Wide convention next month in Orlando. Lots a work leading up to the event but it'll pay off. Working the convention for the week. Needless to say I'm looking forward to the month of May so I can breathe.
Justin is doing well, 14 years old and quite the teenager. School is going very well for him, A's on all his math tests. He's had a couple girlfriends but nothing lasting. He has his Spring break starting this weekend, Joy will be by to pick him up for the week. Spring break in Panama City!! Scott and I will be putting house back together but hopefully I can pull him away for one day to venture out.
We wish everyone the best, hope your all well.
I'll be back soon with photos...

Spring is in the air...
Happy March 1st -
The trees are budding, daffodils blooming and birds singing but yet it was 43 degrees today in Tallahassee. Why? This winter has been colder and seems longer than previous year. I'm so ready for Spring to "Spring".
I'm so looking forward to next weekend, we have plans to make a trip to Orlando. Scott's Sister and her family; husband, and 3 small girls. They headed this morning to Orlando, destination Disney World. The girls range in age from one - 4 years old and it's their first visit to D.W.
I would love to be there to see their little faces the first time they walk through the gates.
We'll be meeting them on Friday at the Shades of Green military hotel to visit for the weekend. I can't wait to see them and Scott's Mom and other Sister and her twin girls will be there on Saturday to go to a park. We're celebrating Carissa, Lexi, Gaby and Mom Booth's birthday this month.
Hope everyone is enjoying the first signs of Spring.
Don't forget that next weekend is Daylight savings, "Spring ahead" and set your clocks ahead one hour. :)

Happy Spring
We hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day. Justin left with his Mom on Friday to spend the weekend with his Grandparent's in Panama City. Scott and I had a weekend alone which is always nice but we're missing Justin.
Scott and I spent quality time this weekend. Friday night we hung out with Ryan, Scott's little brother. Not so little since he's graduating from FSU this Spring. We enjoyed the company and we're surrounded by a bunch of college students. I felt really old....It's was nice catchy up with Ryan and his life, future plans, etc.
Yesterday, Valentine's day we spent together just enjoying the day and each other's company. We ran to the Mall to do some shopping catch up and tried to see a movie but theater was way too busy. The weekend has been very rainy and overcast so I guess everyone thought they'd see a movie. We ended up coming home and watching some NetFlix movies.
Sunday was spent running errands and finishing some odds and ends in Scott's room. It seems like we keep working on the room and just never finish. Now that the holiday's are out of the way we plan to do some home projects inside and out.
Well now it's Sunday night and I feel good about what I've accomplished again this weekend. One of my New Year's resolutions was to get myself organized and accomplish small goals each week. I'm very proud of myself for what I've completed so far.

Happy Thanksgiving and all that jazz
Hello Everyone -
We've been busy little Powers since my last post. Justin started the 8th grade and is doing very well, honor roll the first 9 weeks. Scott had surgery on his neck in late September. He's had a "tumor" on the side of his neck for a few years and it started giving him problems, lots of pain "in his neck". Sounds like something I do to him too, am I tumor? :-) Any who his surgery went very well, he had an amazing Doctor taking care of him. His recovery went well too and he was back at work within a week. He's doing so much better now that the tumor is gone, no headaches or jaw pain. I've been very busy with work, even though the economy is not so good the company I work at is not phased. I'm so blessed to have a job and such a great company to go to work every day.
We also added a new member of the Powers's family, a stray we took in named Cookie. A neighbor at the end of our road moved away and left her behind. We had fed her along with two of their other dogs for over a month before they moved. We decided to take her in once we realized what happened. The newest member has brought us some joy and some problems. She's a good dog but young so we've been going through the "chewing" stage of the puppy age. Cookie is a sweet dog and she's blended well with all of the other creatures in the house. Her and Deuce tear it up in the backyard and love to run the neighborhood visiting with all the neighbors. We hope to find her a loving home but for now she's a Powers.
We hope that everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. Scott and I are looking forward to cooking our feast and will be able to share the day with some friends and family. For all of our friends and family we won't be sharing this holiday with, we miss you all very much and can't wait to see you; hopefully soon.

Update....Summer vacation, destination Orlando!
Hope everyone is having a wonderful, fun filled summer. I've been busy doing something close to nothing....I see that my last entry was the end of June, time flies when you're having fun.

We had lots of fun around July 4th when we spent time at Disney World. Picked up Justin and toted him over to Shades of Green to stay, it's a hotel on Disney property that caters to people within the different military branches.

Mark and Brenda met us there for approximately 36 hours, give or take a couple hours. :-) July 4th was spent at Universal Studios-Islands of Adventure, we got through the park by 3PM and managed to ride ALL the water rides at least once. A soggy butt is not FUN!! Later that night we went across the street to the Polynesian Hotel to watch the Disney fireworks, very impressive. Once that was over we headed back to hotel and enjoyed a fantastic Italian dinner with Mark & Brenda.
The next day are buds left to go home and the "Powers" headed off to the Big, Wide World that is DISNEY. Starting out at the Animal Kingdom which was an excellent place to start, we conquered the Himalayan roller coaster ride. Onto the next park MGM Studios, I mean Hollywood Studios which is crazy since we're not in "Hollywood". Tower of Terror was on our list as well as Rock N Roll rollercoaster which to are disappointment we couldn't get on because of the wait. We managed to enjoy the afternoon running around to a bunch of our other favorite rides. We headed back on one of the Disney (air conditioned) buses, we love A/C after being out in the hot, humid sun all day. :-o Back to the hotel to "freshen up" and then despite thunder in the air we ventured on the Monorail over to Disney World A.K.A. The Magic Kingdom for the evening, we had until 12AM to pack in as much of the magic that we could stand. Old haunts we knocked out; Space Mountain, People Mover, Carosel of Progress, It's a Small World, Haunted Mansion, Winnie the Pooh but no time for Pirates. :-/ We were right next to the Castle when the fireworks went off, that was totally cool and LOUD.

By end of the night we were tired, sweaty and sore not to mention Justin wanted me to carry him out of the park. Yea right....carry me! hee, hee!
We got to bed that night around 1:30AM once we wound down from all the excitement that is Disney and I might add 3 parks in one day.
That was our little getaway this summer, hope you enjoyed. The party had to end the next day when we dropped Justin off with his Mom and Scott and I headed back to Tally.
